As of last night, I officially completed my SECOND baby hat. I am on a roll! The latest uses the “upside down daisy” pattern from the book Itty Bitty Hats. I used a multi-colored pink & white yarn, which ended up looking striped when knitted in the round. I didn’t like the way the petals turned out — they’re a little messy, but still cute. I also wasn’t able to do the “I-cord” as she calls it in the book. I stands for Idiot, so I must be a complete moron. I ended up doing the stem in the round and it looks fine, but I’m going to have to get someone to show me what she means with those I-cord instructions.
This hat also constitutes my first official switching of colors in a hat. I didn’t have to carry it with me, though, since it was just switching to green to do the stem and finish the hat.Â
Next I’m going to do a true striped hat, and then an all-black hat with a wreath of rosettes in bright colors around the brim.
